In The Press:

GeaeEye

Imagine, that you are already late to the airport, when you realize you cannot find your passport or wallet! Or maybe you just wanted to kill a family member for consistent hiding of the remote? It happens all the time to almost everybody. According to a British survey we are a bunch of losers spending 15 minutes a day in average on searching for our misplaced items. The only solution we have today are Bluetooth Tags which are bulky battery-based electronic devices, cost 20$ each, and live for a few months.

There is other technology, called RFID, which is mostly used by big enterprises (like Walmart, DHL, etc.) for inventory management and tracking. In contrast to Bluetooth tags, RFID stickers are tiny, cost cents, and last for years. The only problem - RFID readers were a huge device which cost thousands of dollars. Till now!

We decided that our mission is to embrace this technology to the Smartphones world, make it affordable to anyone. So we developed an RFID reader inside a Smartphone case / dongle. We decided to start with a brand GearEye for the specific niche of professionals with a lot of gear – photographers, DJs and the like.

GearEye is a smart gear management system for on-the-go professionals. It enables them to manage their equipment through thick and thin- organizing, keeping track, and making sure you always have everything you need, whether at home or on the job.  A game-changer whether you have a small messenger bag or one of those sixteen-pocket camera bag.

The bond between a professional and their tools is a special one. Anyone who’s experienced it can tell you there are few things worse than losing essential gear. We’ve been there too. That’s actually exactly why we created a system that puts an end to it. Just put inexpensive RFID stickers on all your gear, and suddenly, everything in your bag can be easily accounted for, with just a tap on your phone. That’s it. Never again feel the misery of gear-loss.

More than just a safety net, GearEye enables you to organize your equipment into ‘gig specific gear groups’ or collections so that you always have exactly what you need when you need it.  That way you can quickly and easily make sure you have what you need at today’s studio session, not last week’s beach shoot.

Sticker adhesive

Our high-quality adhesive is the best out there, tested for high durability and lasting power. Tough to remove even when you try, but never leaves a mark.

Why RFID?

Yes, we thought about using BLE, but it was just all wrong! BLE may be useful for keeping track of one or two things, but for a complete gear management solution, we knew we had to find something better: a more inexpensive, versatile solution, that's not dependent on batteries. We got creative and found a simple solution for professionals with a variety of equipment. RFID was a perfect fit!

  • Stickers are durable and long lasting.
  • No batteries necessary.
  • Thin and easy attached.
  • Low cost-per-item.

GearEye doesn't just use RFID, it uses your phone's smart sensors to let you know what's going on with your gear
