A pharmacy inside a capsule - Capsulab's local production technology is revolutionizing the retail world
Capsulab has developed a cutting-edge technology that replaces the traditional and outdated production method and completely changes the manner in which companies produce and market food products, cosmetic preparations, food supplements and pharma. Using a capsule containing all the active components of a product, it is possible to produce products of high quality and at minimal cost - on the spot, with the push of a button - with an ease similar to that of making coffee in an espresso machine.
For the manufacturers - full control over the production and supply process and increased profitability
Capsulab enables manufacturers and retail companies to increase profitability and attractiveness by shifting the factory to the end point. The technology allows the use of customized consumer products, which are produced in real time according to the customer's demand, thus minimizing the entire production process and making it proportionate. Retailers do not need to order and transport generic goods in excess, some of which will not be sold due to lack of demand and limited shelf life. Capsulab avoids the need for overproduction in an industrial plant and dependence on an inefficient supply chain—so that the producer's expenses are small and the profit margin increases.
For the end users - a customized, high-quality, healthier and cheaper product
Since the preparation is produced according to demand at the time of purchase, without the need for long-distance transportation, manufacturers can provide their customers with a fresher and higher quality product - at a significantly lower cost. The capsule packaging stores the active ingredients of each product separately and preserves the potential for their use, while reducing the use of preservatives. The ingredients are mixed only upon activation of the packaging and adjustments can be made in the product composition in real time, thus rendering each preparation customized to the customer.
Investments by prominent investors in Israel and the world and a grant from the Ministry of Economy
Capsulab raised significant investments from private investors, including Tzachi Segal, the first investor in Mobilay and a contact person to leading manufacturers in Israel; Cammellatte, the European cosmetics manufacturer; Galil-On, a leading industrial company in Israel; Makor Energy, a pioneer company in the field of green and renewable energy and more. In addition, Capsulab received a significant development grant from the Ministry of Economy and also receives support and partner backing through the Shalav program, which is intended to assist in the marketing of technologies and entry into foreign markets.
Strong IP with patents in advanced stages—with one of the largest patents written in Israel
The Company has ten patents, of which five are mechanical core patents at PCT stages or higher in the United States, the European Union, China, Korea, Japan and Israel. These protect the very integration of an entire production setup in the capsule—a significant technological barrier that only Capsulab was able to penetrate.
Commercial activity around the world alongside limitless commercial potential
The Company's machines and capsules are already produced on a large scale, which has allowed it to establish commercial activity with huge companies in Israel and around the world in the fields of care, health, and food. Concurrently, the Company is in advanced talks with the third largest chemical company in the world, Givauden, for use of the Company's innovative development.
Leading global trends such as using green, natural and personalized products are impacting global production and distribution processes. Nowadays, mass manufacturing is unsustainable, ineffective, wasteful and produces one unified product at a time. Supply chain disruptions are impacting product quality and often lead to widespread shortages in chemicals and consumer products. Furthermore, the rise of AI and advanced technologies has completely remodeled the retail realm. Hence, brands have branched out looking for manufacturing solutions utilizing innovative technologies, that will leave them independent of external authorities, while enabling the production of natural and organic products, in line with today's market demands. The COVID-19 pandemic has also given rise to multipurpose, contactless solutions and home manufacturing.
The Need
Evolving market demands, along with the growing environmental awareness, have begun to infiltrate the mass production consciousness, leading to dramatic changes in the way we consume our products. The beauty and wellness markets have already started to develop ways through which they can improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes, but these are limited in their ability to produce a wide range of different products, are time consuming, require continuous maintenance and are challenging to operate.
The Solution
Capsulab creates better products for both people and the planet, by transforming the "one-type-fits-all" model into a personalized, clean, on-demand process, according to customers' needs. By using multipurpose capsules containing ingredients that get mixed together in a designated, compact machine at the click of a button, the company delivers fresher, more effective, green products. This on-demand creation of products will revolutionize global, standard assembly lines, by bringing the factory to the end user and improving the entire supply chain.
The Technology
The Capsule:
There are ten different capsule shapes of different volumes and proportions, all operated by the same machine. The capsule is made up of a central and sealed cell in which the mixer is located, along with the main ingredient of the final product; and other separate cells, each one containing a different active ingredient sealed in an ampule that prevents oxidation. The different capsules enable the mixing of up to 18 active ingredients with the main component (other solutions on the market only offer 4 additives). These active ingredients are changeable and customizable in real-time, according to consumers' needs and preferences.
After pressing the “mix” button, the ampules burst open and the active ingredients are pushed into the central cell, where all the ingredients are blended into a homogenic mix, which comes out to a designated container. The mixing of ingredients is performed in a cold emulsion. The entire process takes only a minute, during which there is no contact between the machine and the ingredients. Therefore, there is no need for any cleaning or maintenance– the used capsule is reusable, and the machine is immediately ready to be used again.
